Getting to know Lu Laoshi Part 3

Laoshi also share tips with students now and then! Here's one of the many tips which Laoshi shares with her students!

- How to manage time when doing Paper 2? -

For the Paper 2 segment, Lu Lao Shi encourages us to do the Open Ended section first followed by the MCQ. Having a clear mind and great stamina at the start of the paper allows us to think through the questions and answer them to our greatest potential.

Getting to know Lu Laoshi Part 2

In this part, Shi Hui shares one of the important tips she learned from our Compo and Oral course!

- How to plan out a strategy for Compo? -

At Lu Lao Shi’s, there are ways for us to score well in our composition. The most important way is for us to 审题, by doing this we are able to instruct ourselves what we want to write during the composition.

How to 审题?
During the first 5 minutes of the examination, our main goal is to see if we would like to do 命题 or 看图. Although most school teachers instruct us not to do 命题 if the 看图 has nothing to write about, challenge yourself to try out 命题!

After that, start instructing yourself what name you want the main character(s) to be. Following that, write in all the good phrases so that when you start writing you will know what good phrases or sentences you will like to write.

Most importantly, the ending. You should plan out the quote, e.g. 所谓:“前事不忘,后事之师”and the learning points the character learnt in advance. This way we will be able to save time, focus and have a clear mind during the exam.

I hope you found this post useful and have a great day!

Getting to know Lu Laoshi Part 1

In this series of posts, we'll share from one of our ex-student's perspective on what happens at LuLaoshi PSLE Chinese Strategic Course! We like to thank Shi Hui for sharing her experience with the readers! If you have any queries, please feel free to contact us!

- How does Lu Laoshi teach? -

At Lu Lao Shi’s Learning Centre, Lu Lao Shi uses many techniques to get our A/A*for Chinese. She is uncompromising and teaches us many other learning needs along the way. By uncompromising, I mean that Lu Lao Shi will not tolerate students who fail to give his/her best effort during lessons and are unable to complete learning objectives. If the students need more time and attention from her, she will put in the effort and set up remedial classes for her students. Lu Lao Shi is a great role model as a teacher, she will make sure that every student has her attention and will put in great amounts of effort to help him/her to get their A/A*. Lu Lao Shi is also well-known for teaching Chinese, she is an ex-MOE Chinese teacher and has a lot of experience in both the Chinese curriculum and in teaching.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post and will be interested in joining Lu Lao Shi’s intensive training program!
